Last November 14, the department of Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao launched the month-long celebration of Filipino Values Month.  Filipino Values Month is celebrated every November to promote the recognition of values that are uniquely Filipino. These values include love for God and country, strong family ties, respect and care for the elderly, perseverance, and tolerance.  News NCR DepEd Mandates Make-Up Classes Elisha Mae Ng Published Nov 13 2024 10:15 PHT     | The Department of Education—National Capital Region (DepEd NCR) has issued Regional Memorandum No. 1183, series of 2024, mandating make-up classes across the NCR from November 25 to 27, 2024. The directive, released on November 11, is aimed at addressing the instructional days missed due to recent suspensions caused by Typhoon Kristine.  The make-up sessions will be held face-to-face, following regular class hours, to ensure students can catch up on the required learning competencies. Additionally, DepEd NCR has coordinated with schools to adjust their schedules, setting the In-Service Training (INSET) for teachers on November 28 and 29, following the make-up classes. The event featured cultural performances, a beauty pageant, and an award ceremony. This year’s theme for UN Month is "Cultivating a Culture of Peace," which was aligned with the United Nations' global efforts to address and promote sustainable development.  The highlight of the celebration was the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. UNESCO Club Ambassador and Ambassadress, awarded to students who demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to global citizenship.  The program also presented cultural performances, including dancing and singing, and recognized student achievements in various competitions, such as essay writing, poster making, slogan making, infographics, the ‘Spread Kindness’ vlog, and a singing...
